Dr. Iqbal Society of North America

Name & Objective

The name of the Society is ‘Dr. Iqbal Society of North America’ DISNA and its major objectives are:

To help and facilitate every interested person to educate him/ her at higher level particularly in the field of research on Iqbal or Iqbaliat

To provide a complete and comprehensive support (information and financial) to get a degree of higher level in research (PhD) on Iqbal or Iqbaliat

To foster an awareness of the importance of literature in general and Allama Iqbal's works in particular.

To encourage the study and appreciation of Iqbal's true message for Muslim Nation of the world

To organize lectures, seminars, discussion groups, forums, debates, speech contests, Iqbal days and other gatherings on literary topics at National level, divisional level, district level, tehsil level and town levels in schools, colleges or other institutions

To promote excellence in the study of literature through providing awards and prizes at local educational institutions

To establish and develop Public Libraries for research and academic activities in different areas along with the online libraries

Membership

The membership of Dr. Iqbal Society of North America will be open to everyone, regardless of religion, caste, creed, gender and place of residence who fully subscribe to the objectives of the Society. There is no membership fee but we appreciate members or non members to be volunteers for students approaching to get their higher education and research work.

The Dr. Iqbal Society of North America shall consist of following organizations complying by the fact that we will strictly focus on our educational objectives and will not be a part of any political organization:

A Primary Organization shall consist of a High school / college / university level in urban area or part thereof and a Village in rural area or part thereof
A District Organization shall consist of a District level.
A National or Overseas Organization shall be formed for Overseas Pakistanis.
An international Organization shall be formed for the entire world including Overseas Pakistanis

Members of the Each Organization:

Each Primary Organization shall consist of at least 30 Members.

District Organizations

There shall be a District Organization for each District which shall consist of office bearers of all Tehsil/Sub Division in the District.

National Organization

There shall be a National Organization for the entire country including Overseas Pakistanis, which shall include the DISNA National Council and the Central Executive Committee.

International Organization

There shall be an International Organization for the entire world including Overseas Pakistanis, which shall include the DISNA National Council and the Central Executive Committee off different countries.

Functions of the Organizations

Primary, District, Provincial, National and International DISNA Organizations

The functions of the DISNA shall be:

To motivate people for education at all levels
To promote the literary Programmes (lectures, seminars, discussion groups, forums, debates, speech contests, Iqbal days) at schools, colleges, universities, and other institutes
To assist the students of PhD programs on Iqbal or Iqbaliat in terms of choosing topics for research, institutes for the admission, scholarships etc
To work at the grass root level for mass literacy and education
To promote an awareness of the importance of literature in general and Allama Iqbal's works in particular
To encourage the study and appreciation of Iqbal's true message for Muslim Nation of the world
To promote excellence in the study of literature through providing awards and prizes at local educational institutions
To establish and develop Public Libraries for research and academic activities in different areas along with the online libraries
To establish DISNA Schools/ DISNA Academies/ DISNA colleges/ DISNA Universities gradually to provide free education to deserving people.
To establish Free DISNA educational institutions for special children
To start publishing DISNA monthly magazine.
To find volunteers for following: Researchers, Educationists, Speakers, Debaters, Information Technology, Translators, Audios/Videos organizers, Writers, Poets, Financial supporters, publishers, Event Managers/ Program Organizers or any form of help they can provide
To develop relationships with universities, academies and other institutions around the world
